Accommodation

Zululand Safari Lodge is the larger of the two camps within Ubizane Wildlife Reserve and offers comfortable accommodation in 20 fully serviced chalets.

Guests will love the relaxed atmosphere of this traditional African reserve with its dining boma, swimming pool for those sweltering Zululand days, and comfortable thatched rondavels looking up at the sweep of Ubizane Mountain.

The bungalows, each consisting of a bedroom, full bathroom plus outdoor shower, kitchen, living area and patio, have been uniquely designed to combine elements of African ethnicity with stylish luxury. The interior resembles an African-café style theme by incorporating rustic furniture with rich reds, natural browns and African art. Dining

The bungalows are equipped for self catering with excellent outdoor braai facilities, too. There is also a wide selection of food shops in Hluhluwe town, approximately 6 kms away. At the lodge there are also dining options for breakfast and dinner.

Activities

Facilities at the Lodge include swimming pools and bars, and a watering hole and view points. Game drives in the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve, and for the more adventurous, guided walks, are available. Also available, from the lodge, are guided trips to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Big five Game Reserve.

The staff are very knowledgeable about the area and can advise on self drives into Hluhluwe Game reserve. Other activities include using Zululand Lodge as a base for day trips to the Kosi Bay area, the False Bay resorts and the rest of the wonderful, Greater St Lucia Wetlands area. St Lucia town is only a 45 minute drive away from the Lodge, and just a little further to the Eastern shores at Cape Vidal.
